ilulunsad sa Tarlac

PARA maipaabot  ang mga tamang impormasyon ukol sa biotechnology at ang mga oportunidad pangka-buhayan na maibibigay nito sa mga mamamayan, layunin ng BIONet na maglunsad ng mga  Biotechnology Information and Resource Center sa buong kapuluan.

Ang  Biotechnology Information and Resource Center ay magsisilbing “one stop shop” kung impormasyon ukol sa biotechnology ang pag-uusapan. Ang mga impormasyong ito ay makukuha sa pamamagitan ng mga babasahin, mga aktwal na pagpapahayag at sa “internet.”

Magkakaroon din ng mga seminar at pagsasanay hinggil sa biotechnology depende sa pangangailangan ng komunidad.

Trabaho din ng sentro ang pagdokumento sa mga pag-aaral at teknolohiyang pang-biotek na isinagawa sa mga komunidad sa palibot nito.

Ngunit higit sa lahat, ang pinakaimportante sa mga layunin ng sentro ay ang maihanap ng mamimili ang mga produkto —hilaw man o naiproseso ng  mga magsasaka –na kinakailangan ng mga korporasyong biotek.

Ang unang Biotechnology Information and Resource Center ay bubuksan na sa publiko ngayong ika-28 ng Mayo sa Provincial Agriculture Office ng Tarlac. Ang paglulunsad na ito ay kabilang sa mga tampok na programa sa  pagdiriwang ng Araw ng Tarlac.

Ang proyektong ito ay itinataguyod ng Department of Agriculture, Biotechnology Information and Organization Network, Biotechnology for Life Media and Advocacy Resource Center, Provincial Government of Tarlac at ng Department of Agriculture Biotechnology Program Office.

Sa Hunyo, inaasahang mabubuksan na rin ang Biotechnology Information and Resource Center ng Butuan.
